InMotion offers a lot of hosting options, but we wanted to look into the ones that are optimized for WordPress specifically, so we went into the “WordPress hosting” section and selected the plan called Launch. This one is the most affordable.

After all, a small business owner with limited experience with open source software and coding might feel overwhelmed by VPS hosting and cPanel access. On the other hand, a web developer may feel restricted if not given access to all the tools needed to do his or her job properly.

Liquid Web is another excellent managed WordPress hosting company popular among WordPress community. They offer multiple levels of hosting plans including managed WordPress hosting, VPS, cloud sites, and dedicated hosting.

A key phrase that you note is “if you don’t mind a bit of work.” Having learned WordPress development from scratch I chuckled a bit as I read that. The definition of “a bit” can vary pretty significantly based on skills and experience of the person doing the work and their desire to learn.

Consumers expect every business they encounter to have a website. Luckily, it’s easier than ever for businesses of all sizes to create them, as many web hosting services provide drag-and-drop website builders. You don’t need coding skills or technical know-how to quickly and easily create attractive, functional websites based on prebuilt templates and themes.

If you’re ready to get started blogging with Bluehost, you can use my affiliate link to get a little extra off the normal $5.99 price (only $2.95/month). They’re a top recommended host by WordPress and have great customer service. I’ve worked with them before and been very pleased with the service.

Without hosting, no one can see your website. To get your website online, you need to marry up your GoDaddy hosting with a domain name and then upload your content. Easy, right? Right, thanks to: 1-click setup, generous storage & bandwidth, easy, on-the-fly resource upgrades and 24/7 security monitoring.

I am a very upbeat person in general. I don’t like negativity, and I won’t put negative opinions on this website. That doesn’t mean that I haven’t seen a lot of poor service from various web hosts. On the contrary, I saw a lot! You just won’t find those web hosts here.

To be clear, any host could be a “WordPress host,” because, as I mentioned, WordPress hosting is just hosting a site running WordPress — and any provider can do that. That’s not to say that all WordPress hosts are created equal. Some do it better than others… way better.

SiteGround is a fast-growing independent hosting company. I use them for several side projects. Like InMotion, they are reworking their WordPress plans. But right now, they bundle free CDN and NGINX settings. They also have a one-click staging setup for WordPress. Worthwhile plans.

WordPress is an open source community project where tens of thousands of talented people have made contributions to make it into a great software that it is today. There is a core team of developers that lead the project development, but anyone can contribute patches, report bugs, suggest features etc. Furthermore, project leaders change from one version to another. If you get involved into the community, then you can easily become a core contributor of WordPress.

If you’ve built your website in a HTML editor, like Dreamweaver or Microsoft Expression Studio, you have to upload your website files via FTP (File Transfer Protocol). We have a built-in FTP File Manager that you can access in our Hosting Control Center.

As for SiteGround, they are definitely the best choice for beginners and for advance users, as well. I have been using them for one of my sites and their support is super fast (under 10 minutes, most of the times).

BlueHost has 24/7 customer service available for any questions you may have regarding website setup. They’re not cheap, though. Prices start at $6.95 per month, but they throw in a free domain name plus site for new accounts, too.

I am not tech savvy and I am searching for a WordPress server in order to be an Affiliate. My main concern is, if I want to relocate, I don’t want the host to take over my site. I was with Hostgator a couple years ago, and decided to move due to the poor customer service. They declared that they were the owner, even though I was paying separately for the domain name. (I checked back later and found that they had taken over my site, domain and all!)

Using a control panel that you’re familiar with and can get swiftly in and out of is important to your workflow. So, if that means having cPanel and WHM available, then pay close attention to the web host’s specs before signing up.
Basically, the web is chock full of hosting recommendations and glowing reviews proclaiming this company or the other to be the best WordPress hosting around. But how do you really know who’s 100% honest with their recommendations, and why Company A is higher rated than Company B by some reviewer?
